APRIL
Spring displays make a splash in the darkest windows of the downtown with bright, whimsical floral-inspired installations. Featuring fresh and dried flowers from the growers of North Sound Flower Cooperative. This pop-up is meant to coincide with the Skagit Tulip Festival, opening for the First Friday Art Walk in April and extending through Mother's Day weekend.

MAY

Staged only for the May 1st First Friday Art Walk, noon till 9pm! Large picture frames will be decorated with flowers for visitors to snap a selfie and celebrate the children's art on display. Locations: Whatcom Museum (Lightcatcher), Dakota Art Store, Pure Bliss Desserts, Allied Arts, Aslan Brewing Co. (Brew pub)

JUNE

Our Commencement Weekend floral display will be up Wednesday, June 10 - Sunday, June 14, on and around the Commercial Street Parking Garage and plaza, between Cornwall and Commercial Streets. A large hanging installation of colorful fabric and fresh flowers will be attached to the side of the Commercial Street Parking Garage and over the alleyway plaza space, creating a gateway from the parking structure to the downtown shopping area. Coinciding with WWU's Last Night Out (6/10) and lasting through the weekend, this design will cater to out-of-town visitors and Bellinghamsters alike.

JULY

Watch for colorful "flower bombs" around town in the month of July, as you come into the downtown for other events! We will also host free flower crown and flower tattoo workshops leading up to the Pride Parade.

AUGUST

Find floral arrangements during the First Friday Art Walk in downtown art galleries and alleys that have been paired with pieces of art. How do they speak to each other?

Look for our flower mural during the Noisy Waters Mural Festival, August 14-16th.

SEPTEMBER

A big month for Bellingham Blooms!

Join our block-length community table on September 12-13th, with custom floral displays by local florists, food trucks and specials from local restaurants.

Come learn about dahlias, the darling of the PNW, at the first ever Dockside Dahlia Festival at the Central Ave. Pier on September 26-27th, alongside Sea Feast. We'll have hands-on workshops, free speakers, sales, and a dahlia wall.

OCTOBER

Visitors to the First Friday Art Walk will be offered buttonhole flowers to wear around town. Keep your eyes open for more "flower bombs", and a display at the Pickford Film Center where we plan to screen a series of short documentaries about flower farming.

NOVEMBER + DECEMBER

Oversized evergreen wreaths and garlands will adorn shops, alleys and street posts in the downtown area. Locally harvested evergreen displays and decorations will go up before Thanksgiving and last through New Year’s Day 2027. Giant wreaths will add a festive flavor to Bellingham’s shopping district as the days get shorter, darker and wetter. Hanging installations can be coordinated with lights, while some wreaths will be at street level for people to interact with and pose for holiday selfies.
